Man charged with murder after man’s death near pub in Footscray

A man has been charged with murder after another man died behind a bar in Melbourne’s inner west.
A 25-year-old man was found seriously injured behind the Courthouse Hotel on Nicholson St, near Irvine St in Footscray, at around 7.45pm on Sunday.
Emergency services attempted to treat the South Yarra man but he died at the scene.
Police said the incident was being treated as suspicious.
At around 8.30pm on Monday evening detectives arrested a 37-year-old Williamstown man at Yarraville railway station.
“At this stage, detectives believe the parties know each other,” the police statement said.

The 37-year-old man has since been charged with murder and will appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
The statement said, “Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.”
