Ambulance paramedics rushed to help but Hayley died at the scene.

A 21-year-old man Hayley knew had been charged with breaching the ban/restriction on the AVO (DV) at the time and was dealt with by the courts.

But after further investigation and a public appeal detectives arrested the 30-year-old man almost nine years after Hayley’s death.

Detectives attended a property in Bucca, north of Coffs Harbour, just before 7.30am on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. In the images shared by the police, the tattooed man was seen being handcuffed and put into a police vehicle.

The person, who was taken to the police station, will be referred to the courthouse in the following hours.
