Man charged with stealing camera equipment from Bondi shooting victim in aftermath of terror attack | New South Wales

NSW police have charged a man for allegedly stealing camera equipment from one of the victims of the Bondi beach terror attack following the shooting.
Police claimed in a statement that the man was at a Hanukkah event before the December 14 shooting that killed 15 people.
During the investigation into the attack, detectives “found that one of the victims – a 61-year-old retired police officer and photographer – had his camera equipment stolen following the attack”.
On Wednesday morning, police executed a search warrant in Sydney’s northwestern suburbs.
They said they found and seized a camera, handcuffs and electronic devices, and found a small amount of white crystal powder and other electronic devices in a car.
A 35-year-old man was arrested and taken to Riverstone police station; there he was charged with theft and handling stolen goods.
“Police will allege the man was a photographer who stole the camera equipment of the deceased 61-year-old at the Hanukkah event before pawning it days later,” the statement said.
He was given strict conditional bail to appear at Blacktown local court on Monday, June 22.
