Man dies after alleged serious assault in Melbourne’s southeast

A man who was allegedly seriously assaulted in Melbourne’s southeast has died.
Shortly before 10pm on Tuesday, a man was reportedly injured in an alleged attack.
Emergency services rushed to a house on Warrigal Road, Cheltenham, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
He has not yet been identified.
Police detained a 28-year-old person at the scene.
The man remains in custody.
It was claimed that the couple knew each other.
Anyone with information is asked to come forward.
