Man dies after suffering head injuries at Whitley Bay funfair

Police said that a man died after the “Workplace Accident” reports in the coast fair area.

Northumbria police said that he was called to the Spanish city in the Gulf of Whitley in the Gulf of Whitley on Saturday after a serious injury of a man in his 20s.

The force said he had undergone head trauma and died soon after.

The Health and Safety Manager was informed and Funfair, which will continue during the bank holiday weekend, will remain closed until the next announcement.

A North Eastern Ambulance Service spokesman said: “A quick response health officer, clinical team leader, an emergency ambulance team and air ambulance.

“There was also an out -of -duty doctor to support the patient while traveling.”

A Northumbria Police Spokesman said: “Despite the best efforts of the health personnel attending the stage, the man was unfortunately declared dead soon.

He continued: “We contacted the Health and Safety Manager and we are working with them to determine exactly what happened.”
