M&S urgently recalls popular sweet treat with ‘do not eat’ warning | UK | News

A dessert sold by Marks & Spencer is being urgently recalled from shelves due to concerns it could pose a “health risk” to some customers. A batch of M&S Milk Chocolate Honeycombs was found to contain peanuts not listed on the label.
A notice published by the Food Standards Agency said: “This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone allergic to peanuts. If you have purchased the above product and are allergic to peanuts do not eat it.”
Sensitivity to peanuts is one of the most common food allergies in the UK.
Approximately one in four children is affected, and rates have been increasing in recent years.
The recall applies to 120-gram chocolate bars with lot number 5242 and an expiration date of May 12, 2026.
A statement issued by M&S added: “If you are allergic or intolerant to peanuts please do not consume this product.
“If you want to exchange the product, you can return it to your nearest store and get your full money back.
“We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience caused.”
Symptoms of peanut allergy can range from mild to severe and may include hives, itching, swelling of the lips and face, and digestive problems.
The statement added: “Customer safety is of the utmost importance to Marks & Spencer and we take all matters relating to the production of our food extremely seriously.”
