Man dies after two-vehicle crash near Cookstown

A 21-year-old man has died after a two-vehicle collision outside Cookstown, County Tyrone.
Police said they received reports of a collision involving a Seat Leon and a Volkswagen Bora on Pomeroy Road shortly after 6:45am on Friday.
It was stated that the male driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene.
An injured woman was also taken to hospital for treatment.
2 ambulances and an air ambulance were dispatched to the scene.

Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) councilor Eva Cahoon said the community in the Cookstown area was “shocked and saddened following this fatal crash”.
“This is devastating news and my immediate thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time of heartbreak and grief.”
Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) councilor Trevor Wilson said it was “terrible to hear of another tragedy on our roads”.
“My thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragic incident,” he added.
Pomeroy Road has since reopened.
