Man fleeing ICE agents killed by tractor-trailer in St. Augustine

A man fleeing from federal immigration officials and other federal agents was killed Tuesday when he was struck by a tractor trailer, authorities said.
According to the information provided by the Department of Homeland Security to Fox News Digital, the unidentified 28-year-old Mexican citizen was in St. Augustine was among four people in a vehicle stopped in a gas station parking lot just before 6:45 a.m. in Florida.
All four people inside fled on foot during the encounter with agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). One of them ran on a busy road, crashed into an oncoming truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The pedestrian was struck by a tractor trailer in the right lane and suffered fatal injuries at the scene,” Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said. he said.
The 64-year-old truck driver immediately stopped and tried to help the man, the agency said. FHP is currently investigating the traffic fatality.

The death was the third involving people running into or running from ICE agents in about a week. A man was shot and killed in Texas after DHS said he tried to hit agents with his vehicle.
Another man was shot and killed while inside a vehicle in Maine.
