Man killed, another injured in stabbing at Salamanca, Hobart

A young man has been killed and another is in hospital following a stabbing attack in the popular Salamanca area of Hobart.
Police said an argument broke out around midnight Sunday between two groups of people in a parking lot on Morrison Street off the city’s Salamanca Place.
Two people were stabbed during the fight. One of the men, a 20-year-old man, died from his injuries.
The other man, a 23-year-old, remains hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.
A 20-year-old man is in custody and is assisting police.
Police believe this is an isolated incident and is potentially linked to an earlier incident involving someone from each group.
Investigations are ongoing and police are carrying out various investigations to find others believed to be involved.
