Man killed in overnight hit-skip: Cleveland police

CLEVELAND (WJW) — A man about 35 years old was killed Early Saturday morning after police say he was struck by a vehicle he believed was speeding and lost control.
The crash happened around 2:45 a.m. in the 13900 block of Lorain Avenue, according to Cleveland police. That’s where police found the victim lying unconscious on the road.

Cleveland EMS arrived on scene and provided medical assistance to the victim before he was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police said a preliminary investigation showed the man was walking on Lorain Avenue when he “lost control of a vehicle believed to be traveling above the posted speed limit and struck him.”
The suspect vehicle left the scene before police arrived.
