Man Sentenced 20 Years in POCSO Act

On Saturday, Judge MK Padmavati of Pocso fast track court in Rangareddy district sentenced one Kolla Suresh to 20 years rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl. The court also fined Suresh 12 thousand lira. The court awarded Rs 2 lakh as compensation to the victim.

According to LB Nagar police, Suresh, a native of Narayanpet district, was following a 15-year-old girl who rejected his proposal. On December 5, 2020, he entered the girl’s home, threatened her and sexually assaulted her while she was alone. Based on the complaint of the girl’s mother, LB Nagar police registered a case and sent the accused to remand. After the investigation, the police filed a criminal complaint in the court against Suresh.
