Man shot dead in Manipur’s Kangpokpi

A 53-year-old man was shot dead by some gunmen while working in the paddy field in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district on Saturday evening, July 11, 2026, officials said.

Haolal Singsit, a resident of Govajang village in the Kuki-dominated region, died at the scene, while his wife Nemneikim Singsit escaped unhurt.

Villagers told authorities that they heard about 20 gunshots around 16:00 on Saturday, July 11. While security forces were dispatched to the region, the body was found.
