Police and paramedics rushed to Manchester city center this morning following reports of an incident. Footage from the scene shows a large police and ambulance presence on Market Street this morning. A large cordon has been placed around the Market Street trolley stop.

Manchester police later confirmed a man in his 50s had suffered serious injuries on the tracks. A spokesman said: “Emergency services are responding to an incident at Market Street Metrolink stop in Manchester City Centre, following reports of a man injured on the tracks. “A man in his 50s was taken to hospital where he is currently being treated for possibly life-changing injuries. “No arrests have been made in connection with this incident and the scene remains as investigations continue.”
