Title-winning Indian stars are expected to dominate the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Tournament Team with Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma being included in the squad announced on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

The Indian trio played a magnificent role in the team’s maiden World Cup victory. India defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the summit clash on Sunday.

Second South Africa also has three players; skipper Laura Wolvaardt was named captain of the Team of the Tournament after her sensational efforts with the bat, amassing 571 runs at an average of 71.37 to break the record for most runs in any edition of the Women’s World Cup.

The ICC press release stated that Australia’s Annabel Sutherland, Ash Gardner and leg-spinner Alana King made it to the semi-finals, while Pakistan wicketkeeper Sidra Nawaz was the only player to miss the last four.

England’s Sophie Ecclestone was also included in the list after her strong efforts helped her team reach the semi-finals, while compatriot Nat Sciver-Brunt was also named as the 12th player.

Opening batsman Mandhana scored 434 runs at an average of 54.25, including a century and two fifties.

A model of consistency for India at the top of the batting order, Mandhana finished the tournament as the second-highest run-scorer behind only Wolvaardt.

The left-hander’s 109 against New Zealand in Navi Mumbai was the highlight; Consecutive scores of 80 and 88 against Australia and England before that century showed Mandhana’s ability to perform well against the best teams.

Rodrigues, on the other hand, scored 292 runs at an average of 58.40 with the help of a century and fifty.

His stunning innings of 127 not out against Australia in the semi-final was the main reason for his inclusion in the team, but India’s No. 3 batsman also had a string of other good scores throughout the tournament.

An unbeaten 76 against New Zealand was vital in India advancing to the semi-finals, while Rodrigues’ knock of 24 helped alongside Shafali Verma’s fireworks in the final against South Africa.

Deepti scored 215 runs with the bat at an average of 30.71, including a century and three fifties. He also took 22 wickets at an average of 20.40.

Deepti, who was chosen as the Player of the Tournament, was instrumental in India’s fight for the title. He finished the tournament as the leading wicket-taker and scored significant runs throughout the tournament.

Deepti was at her best on the big stage, taking 5/39 and 58 with the bat in the final against South Africa. His consistency and ability to influence games with both bat and ball made him India’s most valuable player.
