Mangli Files Plaint Against Advocate Subba Rao

Hyderabad:Telangana folk singer and actress Mangli, whose real name is Satyavathi Rathod, met city police commissioner VC Sajjanar at TGICCC on Tuesday and filed a written complaint alleging character assassination through advocate Subba Rao’s propaganda. He demanded strict action against the lawyer.
Mangli, along with his lawyer, requested the commissioner to conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations. His lawyer told the media: “Subba Rao is blackmailing my client Mangli by releasing doctored videos showing bundles of money and accusing him of participating in a scam. Since a complaint has been filed against the Panjagutta police in the case between Mangli and Subba Rao, we have urged the police authorities to collect evidence from both sides.”
“Subba Rao is spreading false propaganda against me,” Mangli said in his complaint. He called on the police to take strict legal action and prevent false allegations from being spread further. Police sources confirmed that the commissioner asked him to personally oversee the investigation.
A special team was formed under Sajjanar’s instructions. After taking legal advice, the team sent a notice to Mangli and Subba Rao, directing them to submit evidence. Necessary procedures will be initiated in accordance with the legislation.
Later, Mangli approached the Panjagutta SHO with another complaint, alleging that Subba Rao was running a smear campaign, including allegations of his involvement in the Rs 150 crore scam. He submitted details of FIR lodged against him to Narsingi police, stating that he had demanded Rs 10 lakh for deletion of certain videos from social media.
Meanwhile, Subba Rao has denied the allegations as baseless. “I met with the commissioner. I have important evidence against Mangli and his brother and I will present them in due time,” he said.
