Manhunt continues after rape attempt on subway train London. British Transport Police (BTP) released CCTV footage on Saturday (July 11) of a man they wanted to speak to about the alleged crime.

Police say a man approached a woman who was alone. Bakerloo Line Train between Waterloo and Lambeth North stations around 23.40. He exposed himself in front of her before dragging her to the ground and attempting to rape her.

He fought him off and escaped from the car in Lambeth North before alerting staff at the station.

Police said the man remained on the train and got off at the Elephant and Castle Tube station.

Detectives believe the man was at Oxford Circus Tube station for the alleged attack and at Piccadilly Circus station afterwards.

Det Sgt Krishan Appannah said: “Our officers are supporting the victim following this horrific incident.

“We understand that such incidents cause deep concern to the public and we are appealing directly to them to help us identify the man in the CCTV footage. “One investigation is that the man may be homeless.

“We would like anyone who recognizes the man in the footage to text his name to 61016, quoting reference 948 of 11 July.

“He may have vital information that could assist our ongoing investigation.”
