Manipur CM Yumnam Khemchand Singh flagged off the newly purchased 477 vehicles for the Manipur Police in Imphal as part of the Centre’s police modernization plan. The new fleet of bullet-proof vehicles aims to improve police mobility, response time, patrolling and law enforcement in the face of ongoing tensions in the state. Senior officials, including Konthoujam Govindas Singh and Rajiv Singh, said the initiative will strengthen policing capabilities in mountainous regions and sensitive areas while supporting broader modernization efforts.
