Manipur CM meets Randeep Hooda, discusses peace restoration in state
During the meeting, Randeep Hooda congratulated Yumnam Khemchand Singh on becoming the Chief Minister of Manipur despite the difficult law and order situation in the state.
While acknowledging the significant challenges of assuming office at this time, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that normalcy would be restored in the near future. He recalled his peace initiative visit to Jiribam district, stating that the trust deficit among the communities has been bridged in then district and that they are once again living together in peace.
He argued that the loss of life and property damage caused by the unprecedented crisis is extremely disheartening.
He added that the government is providing all possible support to protect people’s lives. He also called on all communities to expand their support for the peace process to help restore peace and harmony and promote a harmonious environment.
Randeep Hooda produced and directed “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar”, a biopic of freedom fighter and nationalist Veer Savarkar. He also played a major role in the highly acclaimed Hollywood movie “Extraction”, which was praised by international audiences.
Linthoingambi (Lin) Laishram is a well-known actress, model, entrepreneur and former national level archer from Manipur. He has appeared in various Hindi films and web productions and has been widely recognized for promoting the rich cultural heritage of Manipur. She married Randeep Hooda in November 2023 and they are blessed with a daughter. After the meeting, the Prime Minister along with his wife performed a traditional Khechri with the Star couple.
Hooda conveyed his call for peace to the people of Manipur, urging all communities to unite as one human family and embrace peace, harmony and compassion.
