Richard Lynn said that his vehicle was recorded by entering the parking lot – but almost the same license plate left the other left hours later.

A man was given a wrong parking fee after being mixed with another vehicle with almost the same number plate.

Richard Lynn said on March 18, 2024 that Rushton in Leicestershire, Ashby, paid £ 1.70 to park for about 30 minutes in the yard parking lot, but later received a request for £ 165 from the lawyers representing the private company Horizon Park.

The photographic evidence provided by the 53-year-old company showed that Hyundai entered the parking lot-but a KIA with the same number plate bar left a letter nine hours later.

Horizon Park said that he wrote to Mr. Lynn to say that the problem was corrected on July 25, but it was not approved.

Horizon Park provided Mr Lynn’s car (left) photos showing a plate starting from FH6 and another car with FP6 record.

“It is ridiculous. They have different cars with different but different plates, but they didn’t properly control them.

“As a result, I got a very bad letter, I threatened to legal action if I had not paid a fine that I shouldn’t be given in the first place.”

On March 25, 2024, if Mr. Lynn pays in 14 days, a letter requesting £ 85 – £ 51 was sent.

However, he said that the issue was only noticed in July this year – when he received a letter demanding £ 165 on behalf of the Horizon Park.

Mr. Lynn said he moved home in December 2022, but was wrong. Driver and Vehicle Undergraduate Agency (DVLA) Not Informed “At the beginning of 2024” for a while.

He said that his address was later updated, but he believed that previous correspondence could be sent to his old home.

Horizon Park said that he wrote to Mr. Lynn on the address provided by DVLA on March 25, 2024 and then sent reminder letters on 24 April and 24 last year.

‘I am quite angry’

Mr. Lynn added: “The truth is that none of these letters should be sent in the first place.

He continued: “There was no humanity in the form of dealing with it in order to look at these plates and detect the error, or in the form of an aggressive letter.

“I almost paid them to eliminate them, but I pushed it back because it was a clear mistake.

“The only thing they had was ANPR [automatic number plate recognition] They didn’t notice the evidence and plates – although the same – it was different. He believes nobody controls it.

“My fear is to make many mistakes like this, but most people pay because they have to pay big legal fees even if they have not committed money and the crime.

“I’m quite angry with everything.”

Horizon park spokesman BBC’ye, the issue was corrected when he attracted attention, he said.

The BBC asked the firm to announce whether this was canceled and the potential legal proceedings were stopped, but rejected it.

He said he wrote to Mr. Lynn from Ashby to inform him, but he did not receive a letter from the company.

A statement made by Horizon Park, “We are making every effort with our processes to give the right park fees.” He said.

He continued: “We will investigate to see how we can develop, but in cases where the parking fee may be wrong, we will encourage the issue to appeal to solve the issue at an early stage.
