Alarming details have emerged about the women’s branch of the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad, known as ‘Jamaat-ul Muminat’. A recent social media post by JeM chief Masood Azhar revealed that this terror wing has successfully managed to recruit close to 5,000 jihadist women.
Serious security concerns arose as it was revealed that these women had been radicalized and brainwashed to be used in ransomware activities.

This is evident from the social media post where it is said that Jamaat-ul-Mumineat urgently needs district-wise offices to create an organizational structure as the number of women members increases.
District Center: Separate offices for Jamaat-ul-Muminaat will be established in each district of PoK.
Recruitment and Training: These new offices will serve as fully operational centers where everything from recruiting new members to training alleged militants will be handled.
Azhar’s post also included letters from women who joined the wing, claiming that commitment to Jamaat had given them a newfound “purpose in life”.
Masood Azhar Denies ‘University of Nebraska’ Reports’
Masood Azhar also touched upon a different discussion in his post; He mentioned the University of Nebraska, USA. He claimed that some people were ‘selling a lie’ that the US university was behind the ‘Jihadist atmosphere’ in Pakistan.
Azhar vehemently denied these allegations and stated that such news had no basis and that he regretted that columnists, ministers and intellectuals mistakenly accepted these allegations as fact.
Previous Voice Emphasis on the Role of Women
This latest revelation certainly adds to the already existing concern over JeM’s women’s networking strategy. Earlier, a 21-minute audio clip attributed to JeM chief Masood Azhar had surfaced, clearly explaining the operations and importance of Jamaat-ul-Mumineat.
In the audio recording released by Markaz Usman O Ali in Bahawalpur, it is stated that Al-Azhar promised “Paradise” to the women who joined the organization. He also referred to India’s operation called “Operation Sindoor” and talked about the death of his sister Hawa Bibi during the incident.
