Massive fire destroys 100 homes in Norway

A massive fire in southern Norway has destroyed more than 100 homes and forced hundreds of people to flee the area.

Police said the fire started in a mansion in the city of Drammen on Friday afternoon.

It later spread throughout the region and nearby forests.

Fire crews continued their work on Saturday morning to control the fire.

Norway’s public broadcaster NRK said hundreds of people went to evacuation centres.

No residents were reported missing, police said.

It was not immediately clear what caused the fire.

Drammen is about 30 km southwest of Oslo.
