Massive piece of Mars set to sell for millions in New York

In New York, a large pile of Mars is auction.

The gigantic NWA 16788 will be under a special natural history themed auction in Sotheby’s in New York on Wednesday, 16.07.25.

Having a part of the rock, the rock is expected to sell £ 1.5-3 million ($ 2-4 million), the eye will come with the cost of irrigation.

The meteorite, which was discovered in Niger in 2023, is almost 70 percent larger than any previous asteroid.

It represents seven percent of all Mars materials on earth.

Cassandra Hatton, Vice President of Science and Nature History of Sotheby’s, said, “This Marted meteorite is the biggest Mars piece we have found with a long shot.

He continued: “So more than twice that we think it’s the biggest part of Mars before.”
