Massive Protest Erupts in Kerala Against Arrest of Nuns

ThiruvananThapuram: Great protests exploded in Kerala on Wednesday against the arrest of two nuns in Chhattisgar on charges of transformation and human trafficking.

Hundreds of people from various Christian sects, including bishops, priests, nuns and believers, attended rallies, walks and meetings in different regions.

A big walk to Raj Bhavan was ruled by Mar Baselios Cleemis, the archbishop of the Syro Malankara Catholic Church.

Speakers at the protest meeting said that hundreds of nuns serve the poor and needy in every corner and corner of the country. This meeting aims to show solidarity with two nuns. These nuns devoted themselves to helping people in Kerala and other parts of India.

Archbishop, “They are a blessing to secular India, especially in rural areas by touching the lives of millions of people, providing education and health services and integrating them into the mainstream society. Services do not exceed sects and the whole society. Prison cannot stop such commitment to humanity.

The church leaders said it was unfortunate that it was unfortunate to encounter a mafia case where the nuns were humiliated before arrest. More than the rejection of the guarantee, what shocks them is to see people’s bail rejection celebrations outside the court facilities. Does secularism look like that? Is this the culture of the country?

The Christian community has been living peacefully with the Hindu brothers who have protected and respected them for 2000 years. This reflects the nation tradition in which people are honored by all beliefs.

Cleemis, “Questions are asked about the ongoing protests in Kerala. With the impressive 100 percent literacy rate, not only Christians, but also people with various religions, combine the conversation against this injustice. This issue goes beyond any individual or the ruling party – this is challenging the secular basis of the country’s constitution.” He said.

The Christian community appeals to rulers for justice. The Constitution guarantees the right to follow a religion and express their beliefs to everyone. The two nuns arrested are not foreigners, the citizens of this country. So, even if there are no managers, who can we resort to to address our pain and concerns? The church asked the leaders.

BJP President, the allegations of the nuns clearly said that the wrong. If that’s the case, they should explain why they’re in jail. Why can’t they be released? The government must take action against those responsible for attacking nuns.

Church leaders, Christian social assistance programs, “he said should” walk the conversation “, he said. “If we have been transforming people for the last 2000 years, why not the Christian population has not increased exponentially?” Remained only 2.5 percent. ”

Church leaders said that many misleading expressions have spread to create hatred against minorities, including Christians. The government must show the will to put an end to such campaigns and to put an end.

Cleemis, “Nobody should think that these actions will prevent Christians from working in society. We will continue to serve the poor, needy, helplessness and pain. Even the last Christina will remain dedicated to helping the poor.” He said.
