Acting legend and superstar of Hindi cinema, Dharmendra passed away on November 24 and his fans are finding it difficult to accept this fact. The Sholay actor’s last rites were a matter of silence. On Monday morning, an ambulance entered Dharmendra’s house in Juhu and the family rushed to Pawan Khan’s cremation ground with Dharmendra’s bodies without making any official statement.

It is true that when the Chupke Chupke actor was hospitalized, several media portals crossed the line and misreported his death. Sunny’s anger at the paparazzi and the media was justified. But a superstar of this caliber deserved a better farewell. During the funeral and even after, several of Dharmendra’s fans stood outside the cremation ground, breaking down and shouting their grief at not being able to see their idol one last time. Dharmendra deserved one last ride like Sridevi
Amid tight security, several women expressed their pain and disappointment with the Deol family through tears. “Group Karo Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol’s filmein. Innhone chori-chori antim sanskar kiya hai.” An old lady said that Dharmendra’s funeral should match Sridevi’s. “Unka antim sanskar Srideviji ke tarah hona chaiye tha,” the elderly fan said, trying to suppress his emotions.

For those who don’t know, Sridevi’s body was kept at the Celebration Sports Club in Lokhandwala before the last rites of the superstar actress. Thousands of fans gathered with family members to pay their last respects. Sridevi’s funeral was a large public event that included an “anti darshan” (last viewing) and a procession to the Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium. In a way, fans’ anger is justified, and we hope that in the future, Sunny or Bobby will explain why they said goodbye to their father so quietly.
