Medical staffer alleges rape inside Bengal hospital, accused arrested

In a state hospital in Panskura, a female medical staff accused the manager of the facility of rape.

Prime Minister Zahir Abbas Khan was arrested by the police. The alleged incident occurred on Sunday, September 14, 2025, and then filed a complaint with the Police Station Survivor Panskura, a contracted employee.

Many claims have emerged against the defendant man.

The alleged incident occurred in Panskura Super Private Hospital. Later, many women from the facility claimed that the defendants called the women to their room and had been sexually harassed.

The allegations were first opened to the public on Monday, September 15, 2025, after which the defendant was arrested from Kolaghat, 15 km from the hospital area.

Khan was the president of the contractor company where Survivor worked.

The survivor also said that the defendant threatened to kill him if he told anyone. “He called me to his room on the pretext of getting some things. He threatened me when I refused to go,” he said.

“This is a conspiracy against me,” Mediapersons said when the police were detained. It was produced later in court later.

After claiming that previous complaints were ignored, the medical inspector of the personnel exploded in the hospital. The locals and staff organized demonstrations outside the hospital on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

However, the inspector said that no one has complained before. “If our staff does this, then to whom will we trust? I just started to learn these claims yesterday.

The staff also claimed that Khan had harassed and abused women in the hospital room for more than 4-5 years, but no action was taken against him.

The opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari said he was with all the victims. Adhikari, “We are in contact with them, we have organized protests in the region that led to arrest,” he said.

Police confirmed that the investigation continued.

Local Bharatia Janda party leaders claimed that Khan had a significant impact in the region.

Trinamool Congress spokesman Kunal Ghosh, this incident has no relationship with the ruling party, he said. Former Rajya Sabha deputy Mr. Ghosh, “Police should be investigated thoroughly. I definitely call for a penalty,” he said.

This incident brought back the memories of a female doctor at RG Snow Medical College and Hospital on 9 August 2024, which triggered protests and anger in Kolkata for several months. On January 20, 2025, a court sentenced the former Calcutta Police Civic Volunteer Sanjay Roy to imprisonment for a terrible crime.
