Meet Feitian 2 – China’s Hypersonic Leap That Stuns The West, Triggers Alarms In India And U.S. | World News

New Delhi: The sky in Northwest China witnessed something in which the best military minds in the world were not ready. A sharp explosion, fiery path and a breakthrough-pepper tested the ‘Feitian 2, a new generation hypersonic craft that can reach speeds of modern air defense.
This is not a burning and falling missile. This machine comes back. Reusable. Quick – Mach 12, which is about 14,800 kilometers per hour, is fast. For comparison, most commercial jets enter a speed of approximately 900 km / h.
What is Feitian 2?
Built by China’s northwest polytechnic University – a black -listed institution for connections to military technology by the United States – Feitian 2 is not a part of the metal. It uses a RBCC motor that is shorter than the rocket -based combined loop drive.
This system blends the power of a rocket with the efficiency of a motor breathing. In simple terms, it allows the craft to come out like a rocket, shift the middle air to a faster engine mode and return like a glider-without the need for hepsiic liquid oxygen.
Instead, it works on a mixture of kerosene and hydrogen peroxide. No cryogenic system. There is no need to carry large oxygen tanks. Just raw speed and smart engineering.
Chinese state media and scientists behind the project say that the test flight has achieved everything they hoped for. He changed the pushing modes in the air. He used sharp angle changes. He maintained his balance even at excessive speeds. He adjusted the push and reshaped herself as she flyed.
The data obtained from the flight are collected in real world conditions-something that few countries have achieved with such a motor.
Why are India and the West watch tense?
Hypersonic technology is nothing new on the global stage. The United States, Russia, China and India are competing to develop fast maneuverable weapons that can pass enemy radar and measures. But Feitian 2 different.
Most hypersonic platforms are single shot weapons. Fire and forget. If the Feitian 2 is developed as a means of war, it can return after strikes. It can carry more heavy loads. It burns less fuel. And it can fly more than most existing systems.
For the army, this opens up opportunities from fast response drones and slip bombs to the crew plane that can enter and exit even before the enemies blink.
If this technology matures, no missile defense shield will be fast enough. No radar system course will correctly predict the course. Turns the idea of deterrence upside down.
India’s defense planners closely followed, especially after the Brahmos missile partnership with Russia and after their own hypersonic trials. However, China’s advantage is not in partnerships, but at the speed. It occurs faster, tested faster and deployed earlier.
The United States has invested in great investment in hypersonic, but American analysts are now concerned that China is the lead. Universities, laboratories and military-industry complexes work with less rules and even less restrictions. Feitian 2 proves this.
There is another twist
Northwest Polytechnic University, the creator of Feitian 2, under the sanctions of the USA. Students usually cannot get a visa. His research is interrupted from American cooperation. However, he attracts one of the most advanced hypersonic flights recently.
This raises questions in Washington and other capitals – does sanctions work? If an institution on a blacklist can make such a breakthrough, how many progress have been made behind the large firewall? And where does China get components, data and plans to create such complex systems? Some of these technologies are double -use imports? Are pieces and designs directed from civil programs?
More importantly – what’s next?
Feitian 2 can still be experimental. But the flight was not just a test. It was a signal. A new kind of weapon race continues and the end line moves faster than ever.
