Meghalaya asks Centre to convince Bangladesh to erect fencing close to International Border

“The Meghaya government asked the Ministry of Interior (MHA) to convince Bangladesh to persuade the international border fence to erect the border fence close to a 40 km of jaws without leaving the villages outside the fence.” He said. Under international norms, 150 border fences were built on the territory of a country.
“However, in Meghalaya’s case, this will result in the safety of the safety of a few villages except the fence,” he said.
“We called on MHA to convince the Bangladesh Government, because of this reality, let’s approach the main pole of the border so that we can avoid fence outside the village.” He said. PTI.

As a part of the pressure, joint operations by the Border Security Force, Meghaya Police and Village Defense Parties (VDPs) were launched to guarantee all possible exit routes and cleanse the gang members that could still be kept in the Indian region.
