University shooting LIVE as two dead and ‘lockdown’ in place | US | News

A spokesperson said: “On Thursday, February 12, 2026, South Carolina State University officials asked the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) to investigate a shooting on campus that left two people dead and one injured.

“The university quarantined the campus at approximately 9:15 p.m. Thursday following a report of a shooting at an apartment in the Hugine Suites student housing complex. SLED investigators are on site and actively investigating.

“University officials have not yet confirmed the identities of the dead or the condition of the injured.

“The campus remains on lockdown. The University’s Department of Public Safety is supported by the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety and the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office in patrolling on and around campus.

“Friday classes are canceled. Advisors are available to students.”
