Meghan Markle accused of ‘cashing in’ on her regal links as she shows off notebook with her royal cypher in promo video for As Ever Christmas range

Meghan Markle has been accused of taking advantage of her former royal life to promote her lifestyle brand’s new festive collection.
Ahead of the launch on Tuesday afternoon, the Duchess of Sussex, 44, shared a video of herself working on her laptop, and on her desk was one of her new $64 candles and a blue notebook with the royal code embossed in gold on the cover.
The monogram, consisting of the letter M and a crown on top, was introduced before her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.
But Meghan, who left royal duties to live in Montecito with the Duke of Sussex and their two children in 2020, was accused by fans of ‘cashing in’ on her connection to the Royal Family to boost interest in her Christmas collection.
“Another example of Meghan putting her royal code on just about everything, you can see it in her notebook in her latest Instagram story,” wrote one X user.
‘I think that’s the real purpose. “It is quite difficult to sell a candle for this price unless it is royal property,” insisted another.
Meghan’s festive collection draws heavily on her time in the Royal Family, with Signature Candle No. 519 commemorating Prince Harry’s wedding day.
A gushing description on the website claims it ‘evokes the freshness of a day in the English countryside and brings back ‘cherished memories’ of the Duchess’ wedding in Windsor on May 19, 2018.

But Meghan’s display of royal connections failed to impress fans, with one person writing online: ‘I don’t for the life of me understand her obsession with all things royal.
‘It means absolutely nothing to me as an American. ‘I find the Royal Family interesting but I have no desire to have a royal title.’
Another added: ‘The situation is pathetic at this point. If you have to remind everyone that you’re connected to the royal family, you’re definitely not royalty.’
‘Old money against new money, real aristocracy doesn’t do that. A third bet she even had the toilet roll on, while other critics called Meghan’s use of the royal insignia ’embarrassing’, ‘pathetic’ and ‘rude’.
Another added: ‘Because he knows without it it’s just a stupid candle and the only promotion he can offer is to add something noble somewhere on the screen.’
This isn’t the first time Meghan has shown off her royal monogram; The duchess has previously sent influencers and writers titled papers emblazoned with her own password.
He also does sports A gold signet ring engraved with her and Harry’s royal cipher nods to their ties to the monarchy despite their departure from royal duties.
The piece, thought to be made by British jewelers Bentley & Skinner, who have royal permission, features a handwritten H and M, topped by two crossed pattés, four fleurs-de-lys and a crown of two strawberry leaves.
The monogram, which consists of the letter M and a crown on top, was introduced before Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry in 2018. The Duchess features Meghan in her Netflix show With Love.

The couple’s royal monogram was designed following their marriage in 2018 and has been used on the previous Sussex Royal website and social media accounts.
On February 09, 2025, he showcased the ring at the 2025 Invictus Games held at the Vancouver Convention Center in Vancouver, British Columbia.
On Tuesday, Meghan unveiled her first Christmas collection with As Ever; these included two candles inspired by her wedding date and her Aug. 4 birthday, and a 2021 Vintage Napa Valley Brut valued at $89.
In addition to the fruit spread variety, Meghan also launched a new strawberry flavor that comes as part of the Signature Fruit Spread Gift set, priced at $42, along with a jar of orange marmalade and raspberries.
The new gift set comes with a box as usual; The seemingly sharp U-turn from the old individual spread packaging has surprised people online with comparisons to ‘perfume’ or ‘candle’ packaging.
In March, shoppers received their long-awaited pots in a carefully crafted white box almost twice the size of the product.
People on social media were confused, expecting the design to include a completely different element. Others have expressed environmental concerns about the amount of packaging used.
The Duchess also added the $32 Honeycombed Sage Honey to her festival collection, which is said to ‘hold a special place in Meghan’s heart’.
The latest As Ever collection features Signature Candle No., inspired by the date of Meghan’s royal wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018. 519 (pictured) contains a candle.
Beekeeping has become a favorite pastime for the mother of two, and in May she shared a video of herself and her daughter Lilibet collecting honey, then cutting a slice of honeycomb and storing it in a jar.
But shoppers shouldn’t confuse their As Usual honey with the jar Meghan collected; Because while Meghan loves the honey harvested from her own beehive, her two hives probably won’t produce enough of the sweet stuff to sell commercially.
The new collection also included the Hot Toddy Mulling Spice Kit and Spiced Cider Mulling Spice Kit, with Meghan advising shoppers that both are best enjoyed in company.
In addition to the $16 price point, the kits require shoppers to purchase a pot of cider to add either their alcohol of choice for the hot toddy or spice packets for spiced cider.
