Meghan Markle ‘used royal tours to say Firm was racist’, author blasts | Royal | News

Meghan Markle allegedly used “fake royal tours” to accuse the Royal Family of being racist. Author Tom Bower made a number of claims about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in his new book Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family.
These include allegations dating back to the couple’s time working for the royal family, as well as allegations about their behavior since stepping away from royal life in 2020. Although Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, have already publicly criticized the book, that hasn’t stopped Bower’s allegations from making headlines.
This includes claims that Meghan Markle used “fake royal tours” to accuse the Royal Family of being “racist”.
The writer claimed the pair believed Nigeria was “the perfect battleground to weaponise racist portrayals of the Royal Family”.
“During a dinner conversation at army headquarters, Meghan told the story of how two senior royals asked Harry while she was pregnant what color the unborn child would be,” he said.
The late Queen Elizabeth II Elizabeth also made a statement after Meghan brought up these allegations to Oprah, saying: “The issues that have been raised, particularly those related to race, are concerning.
“While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed privately by the family.”
Harry and Meghan are believed to be unhappy with Bower’s new book, and their spokesperson issued a statement earlier this month saying: “Mr Bower’s comments have already crossed the line into criticism into obsession. He has publicly used language that speaks for himself, saying ‘the monarchy is essentially based on destroying the Sussexes from our living situation.’
“He’s made a career out of building increasingly elaborate theories about people he doesn’t know and has never met. Those interested in facts will look elsewhere; those looking for deranged conspiracy and melodrama know exactly where to find him.”
