Andrew spends last days in Royal Lodge ‘alone and ranting to himself’ | Royal | News

Disgraced Andrew Mountbatten Windsor reportedly spent his final weeks alone in the 30-room Royal Lodge, “screaming to himself”. The former Duke of York, 65, who now lives in Windsor with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, rarely goes out and spends most of his time “roaming around the mansion, shouting and muttering”, according to insiders.
Sources said the couple slept at opposite ends of the Royal Lodge, where they have lived since 2003, and only met for meals. Meanwhile, Fergie, 66, spends her evenings at a purpose-built bar called The Doghouse at the back of the property, where she “pouring her heart out to staff and friends”. The two also reportedly discussed how they feared for their safety due to Andrew’s connections to the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew’s titles were stripped by his brother King Charles last month.
As well as sharing her concerns with Andrew, Fergie is also “leaning on” the loyal staff for support, even asking them to stay at the Lodge late to keep her company. Sun. His older sister Jane also came from Australia to provide him with moral support.
“They were heard having some pretty intense conversations about what happened,” the insider said. “Sarah, in particular, is panicking about what’s going to happen next and she’s not doing well.
“She is afraid of being targeted and is worried about herself and Andrew’s daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie.”
He also fears “dark forces” could potentially target Andrew for being at the center of the Epstein scandal: “It’s probably an exaggeration, but he’s very scared and very nervous,” they said.
Although they appear to live separate lives, the two are united in their belief that they want to protect their daughter “as much as possible from what’s going on.”
This comes as Andrew was told to appear before members of US Congress earlier this week and explain his friendship with Epstein. Robert Garcia, the most senior Democrat on the US congressional panel, said: “Rich and powerful men have evaded justice for too long.
“Now former Prince Andrew has the opportunity to come clean and secure justice for his survivors. Audit Democrats will not stop fighting for accountability and transparency for Epstein’s survivors and his gang of collaborators.”
It was also revealed that the former prince had high demands for his new home after leaving the Royal Lodge, including wanting a cook, maid, gardener and even a butler.
