Royal Family LIVE: Prince Harry given brutal Meghan Markle warning | Royal | News

Prince Harry was married to Queen Elizabeth II before marrying Meghan Markle, according to a new royal book. A stern warning was given by Elizabeth. The book, written by royal author Hugo Vickers, will be released next month to coincide with the Queen’s 100th birthday. The letter claims Meghan’s arrival marks a significant turning point for the late monarch and the royal traditions she long supported. Mr Vickers explains that the Queen encouraged Harry to take a measured approach and slow down the pace of the affair.
The author writes: “The Queen suggested Harry wait a year. Harry did not follow her advice. Instead, as we know, the wedding took place just six months after the couple became engaged.”
The late Queen wasn’t the only one raising alarm bells about the pace at which Harry and Meghan’s relationship was progressing. The Duke of Sussex has reportedly asked his uncle, Charles, Earl Spencer, to talk to Prince William’s nephew about taking a moment to consider how quickly everything is moving.
Tom Bower wrote in his first book, Revenge: The Battle Between Meghan, Harry and the Windsors: “At William’s request, Spencer weighed in. Spencer, who has been married three times, warned his niece to rethink her rush to marry. Her advice provoked a harsh response. ‘This was going to be really difficult,’ Harry would later consider settling Meghan’s place in the family.”
