The ex-husband of one of Meghan Markle’s Hollywood best friends has broken his silence about the dispute that allegedly led to their split. Meghan Markle was very close to Canadian stylist Jessica Mulroney, who played an important role in her life before and during her relationship with Prince Harry.
Their children also attended the Sussex wedding in 2018; Jessica’s sons Brian and John served as servants, and daughter Ivy served as a maid of honor alongside Princess Charlotte. However, the pair appeared to have a falling out after Jessica was involved in a “white privilege” fight with Sasha Exeter, a black social media influencer, in 2020. Now, Ms Mulroney’s ex-husband Ben has revealed how he and his wife were “canceled” in Hollywood in mid-2020, calling black media influencer Sasha Exeter a “racist scammer”.

The conflict between Ms. Mulroney and Ms. Exeter occurred following the death of George Floyd.
Floyd was an African American man killed during an arrest by white police officer Derek Chauvin in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in May 2020, sparking major protests linked to the Black Lives Matter movement.
It was claimed at the time that Ms Mulroney was offended after Ms Exeter’s “public call to action” online.
The influencer claimed the pair had argued about the importance of the influencers “speaking out”, adding that he was later threatened by Ms Mulroney, for whom Mulroney later apologized multiple times.
Ms. Mulroney’s ex-husband, a Canadian TV host and the son of Canada’s former prime minister, Brian Mulroney, accused Ms. Exeter of “taking advantage” of the Floyd movement.
“A racist grifter decided to take advantage of the George Floyd moment and make up a whole fiction about my wife and the country and bent over backwards and said: ‘Okay, here’s our hero and here’s our villain and everything was taken from my wife overnight,'” he told the No But Seriously Thought podcast.

Mr Mulroney claimed the scandal was “fabricated”. MailHe adds: “What the DMs show is not that this woman was being abused because of my wife’s white privilege, but that this woman was hostile to my wife, so my wife said, ‘If you’re going to threaten me, I’m going to threaten you.'”
It was reported last year that the Canadian couple had divorced after 16 years of marriage; however, Mr. Mulroney referred to Jessica as his “wife” on the podcast.
The Duchess of Sussex and Ms. Mulroney had been hanging out regularly, years before these events, while the Duchess was in Toronto filming Suits.
The stylist often posted various photos of the former actress as the two vacationed around the world and enjoyed dates together.
He even posted a photo of himself and Meghan drinking just two days before the Sussex’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey on March 7, 2021.
She captioned the post: “I don’t know if anyone has had to deal with pressure, politics and the press like this woman.

“Despite all this, I never saw him give up kindness, empathy and love.”
Since then, the Duchess has not spoken publicly about her former friend, although there was a small mention in Sussex’s bombshell documentary series Harry & Meghan; Footage was shared here of the night Harry proposed in 2017, and Meghan appeared on FaceTime from her friend “Jess” (thought to be Ms. Mulroney) as she entered Kensington Palace.
The Duchess had previously regularly mentioned her ex on her now-defunct blog The Tig.
The two women do not follow each other on Instagram.
