Melania Trump denies ties with paedo Epstein in unexpected bombshell statement | World | News

Melania Trump has released a bombshell statement denying any ties to disgraced financier and sex offender Jeffrey Esptein. Speaking in the Cross Hall of the White House in Washington, Donald Trump’s wife and US First Lady said: “To be clear, I was never involved with Epstein or his accomplice Maxwell.
“I was never friends with Epstein. Donald and I were occasionally invited to the same parties as Epstein. Epstein did not introduce me to him. Donald Trump. I met my husband by chance.” The bombshell revelation was completely unexpected, as there had been no recent statements linking him to Epstein, who committed suicide in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. Mrs. Trump told the packed room: “I am not Esptein’s victim. I am not a victim of Epstein. Epstein didn’t introduce me to Donald Trump. “I met my husband by chance at a party in New York in 1998.”
The US First Lady urged viewers to “be careful about what you believe”, adding that she had seen “fake images and statements” linking her to the disgraced financier on social media for several years.
He continued: “These images and stories are completely false. I am not a witness or anonymous witness connected to any of Epstein’s crimes.”
“The false slanders about me by malicious and politically motivated individuals and organizations who want to damage my reputation in order to gain financial gain and rise politically must be stopped.
“There are no foundational lies in success, and I continue to protect my solid reputation without hesitation.”
Mrs. Trump also called on Congress to hold hearings with victims of Epstein’s abuse.
She said: “I urge Congress to provide a public hearing that centers on the women victimized by Epstein, especially the survivors.”
Last month, millions of documents were released by the Department of Justice (DoJ) in the latest tranche of the ‘Epstein Files’.
Donald Trump is mentioned several times. There is no suggestion that mentioning the name in the files constitutes a crime.
