Melbourne chef behind Gingerboy and Ezard dies, aged 59

Melbourne-based celebrity chef Teage Ezard, responsible for venues such as Gingerboy and Ezard, has died at the age of 59.
In October 2024, he was diagnosed with multiple system atrophy cerebellar type, an incurable neurological disease.
He began his cooking career by apprenticing under Hermann Schneider, who ran the award-winning Two Faces in South Yarra for over 20 years.
Last year, Ezard and his wife, Tina, shared their experiences with the progressive disease in an interview. Have a nice weekend.
The family has not yet released a statement, but some chiefs posted condolences on social media Saturday afternoon.
