Memes Flood Social Media As 7 AAP MPs Join BJP

New Delhi : From “placement ho gayi” jokes to Hera Pheri-style confusion and dramatic “washing machine” memes, social media platforms turned into a comedy haven after Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha announced on Friday that he and six other AAP MPs were quitting the party and joining the BJP. Users responded with humor, sarcasm and movie-style punchlines, making the political development one of the most talked-about online trends of the day.

One widely shared meme showed the famous classroom scene where a student proudly says her placement has taken place; users joked that MPs had finally received their “dream package” in politics.

Another viral meme used the classic confused response: “Yeh kis line mein aa gaye aap?” Users asked how leaders who once attacked the BJP suddenly found themselves on the same side.

Many users shared the popular “washing machine” meme, which shows leaders walking into one side with allegations of corruption and emerging from the other side politically fresh and “all cleansed.”

One meme jokingly wrote: “Detergent bhi strong hai aur merging bonus bhi”, turning the political change into a full-blown comedy sketch.

Some users compared the move to an employee resigning after waiting for a promotion for years and eventually receiving a better offer from a rival company.

“Notice period completed, laptop delivered, new ID card issued,” one post read, giving the resignations a very farewell-to-the-corporate-office feel.

Another meme used the dramatic “ab maza aayega na bhidu” reaction and suggested that political competition has now become even more entertaining for viewers.

Users also shared old speeches of leaders criticizing the BJP, calling the hilarious reaction clips showing shock, silence and sudden acceptance the “best plot twist of the season”.

Some joked that the leaders were not switching parties but simply “updating their political LinkedIn profiles” for better career advancement.

Sandeep Pathak, Ashok Mittal, Harbhajan Singh, Swati Maliwal, Rajinder Gupta and Vikram Sawhney were the other six MPs who left the Kejriwal-led party.
