Mercedes driver charged after 2 stabbed in Hwy. 401 road-rage incident

A 44-year-old Toronto man is facing charges after two people were stabbed during what police described as being a “road-rage incident” on Hwy. 401 late Monday afternoon.

Ontario Provincial Police said members of its Toronto detachment were called at 4:37 p.m. to the eastbound 401 lanes near Brimley Rd. in Scarborough for a road-rage incident that involved an altercation.

Prior to police arrival, all individuals had left the scene.

Cops said two victims had transported themselves to a local hospital, where police began their investigation.

One victim, a 35-year-old, suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries and the second victim, a 31-year-old, suffered minor injuries.
Police did not say whether the victims were men or women.

Cops said the incident involved two vehicles, a white Mercedes and a silver Mazda. Both vehicles stopped on the left shoulder of the highway and the occupants exited their vehicles.

Cops said that the lone driver of the white Mercedes confronted the two occupants of the second vehicle and that’s when both individuals were stabbed.

Franklyn Ferguson was charged with assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, assault, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
