This collection of gorgeously restored air-insulated buildings holds plenty of gold, starting with the European-inspired plates in the restaurant. Tables dotted with tender lamb shoulder, pan-seared blue-eyed cod, and grass-fed beef burgers, complemented by vegetables grown in the off-site kitchen garden. For breakfast, broccoli and kale pastry is complemented with homemade tomato-saffron sauce.

The takeaway coffee display with pastries from local outfit Tuerong Farm is a lifesaver. And the “general store” component keeps vacation homes stocked with Main Ridge cheeses and Peninsula wines, supplies locals with leather horse bridles and Tilly raincoats, and entices visitors with coveted housewares.
