Messi landed in Kolkata at 01:30 with his teammates Luis Suarez and Rodrigo De Paul. Due to the heavy crowd, he was escorted from the airport to the hotel by heavy security guards.

Fans who wanted to have a look at the former Barcelona star had gathered at the airport before midnight. Many people traveled from all over the country for this opportunity. The streets were filled with people as Messi’s motorcade passed, and his arrival at 4am was celebrated with fireworks.
