Met Office issues rain forecast for Monday as 12 areas face showers | Weather | News

In the latest update the forecaster said: “Monday could be a bit damp for a few of us, with some light rain and drizzle possible in the north.
“Light showers in the morning will move south but will remain mostly dry. After a locally cold start, it will soon warm up with strong sunshine.”
Heavy rain is also expected in parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Met Office meteorologist Honor Criswick said: “As we head into Monday northerly winds will drive some cloud southwards and bring rain to the far north of Scotland.
“We may also see some rain on the east coast of England, but the best shine is likely to be in the southern parts of Wales and southern England. This is also where we will see the highest temperatures, reaching around 25 to 26 degrees.”
The meteorologist added that conditions elsewhere would remain largely dry, with showers possible in parts of north-east Scotland and north-east England.
Although the weather is not expected to be as hot as in recent weeks, sunny and warm weather will be seen.
High pressure is expected to keep widespread precipitation at bay throughout the week. Mirror.

The Met Office’s longer-term forecast says much of the UK is expected to remain dry from 23 July to 1 August.
However, occasional rain is expected in the northern parts.
Conditions are expected to become more unstable towards the weekend of 26 and 27 July, with some rain likely to extend to southern areas, but likely to be lighter and more erratic.
