US immigrants in districts such as Colonia Condesa worsened their influx of gentrification and asked for their calls for legal migration and contribution.

Rich foreigners, especially Americans, are increasingly working at Mexico City due to lower living costs than most American cities. This trend has led to a reaction because many American can stay in Mexico for up to 180 days without visa, usually chooses to leave only when they reach this six -month limit.

According to Eduardo Alanis, demonstrators stated that rents increased by 47% in five years and expressed their concerns about the increasing cost of living.
