Multiple feared dead as private jet crashes near North Carolina runway sparking massive fireball

Many people are feared dead when a private jet landed near an airport runway in North Carolina.
The Cessna Citation aircraft was seen engulfed in flames to the right of the runway at Statesville Regional Airport around 10:15 a.m. Thursday morning.
It is not known how many people were on the plane when it crashed, but the model of the plane has a capacity of 8 to 10 passengers.
In the footage, thick black smoke can be seen covering the air and an inferno that could cost $2.5 million can be seen piercing the jet.
The Federal Aviation Authority told the Daily Mail that the Cessna C550 crashed while trying to land. The owner of the crashed plane was GB Aviation Leasing LLC.
The National Transportation Safety Board is conducting the investigation and the Iredell County Sheriff has been contacted for comment. No deaths have been confirmed.
Witnesses at the nearby Lakewood Golf Club said the plane was flying “very low” before crashing.
Statesville Regional Airport is owned by the city and provides facilities to Fortune 500 companies and various NASCAR teams, according to its website.
FAA records show 89 aircraft were there.

‘A plane crashed during landing around 10.15. ‘The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is on the way and will investigate the incident.’
