Microsoft Azure and 365 down for thousands of users, Downdetector reports
(Microsoft’s Azure and its suite of productivity software were down for thousands of users on Wednesday, according to Downdetector.com. Azure was down for about 16,600 users, while Microsoft 365 was down for about 9,000 users. down detector, A website that tracks online outages was shown.
Microsoft Azure is the tech giant’s cloud platform, so any outage it experiences affects not only the company but also its many other customers.
The technology giant stated on its Azure status page that teams are investigating issues affecting the Azure Front Door service and working to resolve access outages.

It was also stated that users may not be able to access the Microsoft 365 management center and may experience delays in accessing other services. Some are also encountering issues with add-ins and network connectivity in Outlook, according to the Reuters report.
Microsoft said it was reviewing the reports. Later, Microsoft 365 said in a statement that it had “identified a recent configuration change to part of the Azure infrastructure that we believe caused the impact.”

This news comes a week after Amazon’s Amazon Web Services (AWS) encountered an outage issue that disrupted the services of major websites such as Reddit and Snapchat.
Microsoft’s Azure problems come just hours before the company released its quarterly earnings report and a little more than a week after a major outage to Amazon’s cloud computing service disabled a wide range of online services, including social media, gaming, food delivery, streaming and financial platforms. Amazon is the dominant provider of cloud computing services, but Microsoft comes in second to Google in most markets.
Alaska Airlines’ website, application crashed
Alaska Airlines said Wednesday that its website and app are down, just days after a technical outage caused flights to be grounded across the United States.
The operator attributed the latest outage to a global outage on Microsoft’s Azure platform that affected several key systems, including its website.
