Microsoft Windows turns 40 years old

<span>STORY: Microsoft Windows celebrates its 40th birthday.</span><span>::2007</span><span>Under co-founder Bill Gates, Microsoft released Windows 1.0 on November 20, 1985.</span><span>:: Microsoft</span><span>And now the operating system is in its eleventh version, Windows 11.</span><span>::2006 </span><span>Expert Dan Ives said “we wouldn’t be here” if Windows wasn’t developed in the 80s. </span><span>:: Microsoft </span><span>“Microsoft is the foundation of this economy, everything we see consumers and organizations doing. When you look at Windows, it was a turning point that changed the way we live today.”</span><span>Despite 10 years of innovation, Windows 95 has become the world computing standard, said Marc Weber of the Computer History Museum. </span><span>“I think this is extremely important considering that Windows is the largest personal computer operating system in the world.”</span><span>He added that 95 and beyond helped pioneer a new platform for game developers.</span><span>Like many tech companies around the world, the Washington-based software maker has strengthened its operating systems with a series of artificial intelligence upgrades.</span><span>:: Microsoft </span><span>Last month, Microsoft added new features to its Copilot AI assistant to streamline task automation and connection to services across devices.</span>
