Trump says Iranian supreme leader in talks to end war
Donald Trump says Iran’s supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei is in talks to end the war and he would do it “I’d like to meet him.”
Khamenei has not been seen in public since the start of the Iran war and has only addressed the nation through written statements read by television announcers. U.S. officials claimed that Khamenei suffered severe injuries or received no treatment in the same bombing that killed his father, Ali Khamenei, on the first day of the war.
“He’s in on it, too. Absolutely.” the US president told the New York Post. “Yes, I think they respect him a lot.”
When asked about Khamenei’s status, Trump said: “I don’t know, I haven’t had the privilege of meeting him.”
He added: “If you believe that stories are missing a lot of different pieces.”
When Trump was asked if he would meet with Khamenei, he replied: “Yes, I would like to meet him. I would like to meet everyone… We’ll probably meet at some point, It all depends on how it goes.”

Trump: Iran agreed not to have nuclear weapons
Commenting on Iran’s nuclear program, Trump said that Tehran agreed not to acquire nuclear weapons.
He told the New York Post: “We cannot allow them to have nuclear weapons and “They have already agreed that they will not have nuclear weapons.”
When pressed further, he said: “Oh, yeah, they accepted that. I mean, they might change their minds, but that’s one of the things they had to accept. They accepted that. That’s what matters.”

These words of Trump came after the statements of the US Secretary of State. Marco Rubio, There were signs at yesterday’s congressional hearing that Khamenei is taking a greater role in the peace talks, although he has not been seen in public since the war began on February 28.
