Mike Santana retains TNA World Championship, Nic Nemeth eyes title

Mike Santana has been at the top of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) for a long time, but he faced one of his toughest opponents yet in “Impact” in professional wrestling veteran Eric Young.
Young earned a guaranteed title shot with his battle royal win a few weeks ago. He made a statement against Santana last week when he hit the TNA world champion with a piledriver. Young was on a tear against the champion but a sustained double count nearly forced his hand to the referee.
But taking his eyes off the prize ultimately hurt Young. Santana hit a huge double hook shot off the top rope against Young. A Santana bulldog and rolling cutter put him in full control. However, he could not keep Young on the ground either. The referee was caught mid-match when Young accidentally hit him.

Santana hit the Spin the Block but the referee was down. He tried to get the referee to his feet as quickly as possible. He lifted Young into a vertical base and Young kicked him in the groin. Young nailed Santana with the TNA World Championship and then nailed the piledriver.
While the referee was counting, Santana somehow broke the count by placing his hand on the rope. As Young was about to finish off Santana, Ricky Sosa showed up and distracted Young long enough for Santana to rally Young.
Santana retained the TNA World Championship.
Nic Nemeth’s music hit and it looked like he was going to take his chance and get a title shot at “Impact.” Nemeth took the mic and said he could shoot and win the title, but he wanted to wait until Slammiversary.

Santana and Nemeth shook hands, signaling the start of the match. The two then teamed up to take the Fourth Place following Mustafa Ali’s match against KC Navarro for the TNA International Championship.
Nemeth then hit Santana with the Danger Zone. Santana was right not to trust Nemeth before their match at Slammiversary.

Moose returns, setting up match with Eddie Edwards

A few weeks ago, The System took out TNA veteran Moose from behind. After it was reported on the TNA broadcast that Moose was allowed to return, Moose came out from behind after The System punished Leon Slater.
Cedric Alexander defeated Slater in a tag team match with Eddie Edwards. Brian Myers and Bear Bronson got in the ring and beat up Slater. That’s when Moose’s music came on. He came to the ring and quickly dispatched the System.
Moose said he would face Edwards in the match at Slammiversary.
