Mike Vrabel’s relationship with Dianna Russini turns Patriots’ Mother’s Day post into a trolling frenzy

Mother’s Day is a holiday in America dedicated to honoring and celebrating mothers, motherhood, and the influence of maternal figures, and nearly every NFL team, including the New England Patriots, saluted the day on social media.
That’s when things went wrong.
The Patriots broadcast their Mother’s Day celebrations at exactly 10 a.m. ET, and within minutes everyone knew social media was remembering the allegation that head coach Mike Vrabel, who is married to his wife and the mother of his two children, had a questionable, unprofessional relationship with NFL reporter Dianna Russini, who is also married and the mother of two children.
MIKE VRABEL BREAKS THE SILENCE ABOUT DIANNA RUSsini
Thus, a reaction arose. It was full of jealousy, disgust, harsh words and probably some truth. And it came in a public forum.
This almost felt like the Patriots begging people to troll them. While one reply made this point, it seemed like people were trampling each other to get to the comment section of the post.

People posted AI-generated photos of Vrabel and Russini together on boats and holding babies that look like the head coach. They posted messages to the team’s social media team saying maybe they should skip this post altogether.
MIKE VRABEL IS LEAVING THE STEP TO GET FAMILY COUNSELING
Some even asked the NFL to intervene, as if the league would recommend this to the club’s social media manager too soon.
None of this should come as a surprise. People slow down to see fatal accidents on the highway all the time.
And on social media they flock to people ruining their lives. (They also flock when an account with 4.4 million followers steps on a mine).
This is where some people will ask the obvious question: What are the Patriots supposed to do?
Shouldn’t they be releasing a Mother’s Day greeting so they don’t let this episode set them apart from almost every other team out there?
There is no 100% correct answer to the question. Maybe closing the replies would have been the right move, but it could have attracted attention.
Regardless of the Patriots’ reaction, they must understand that Sunday sent a strong signal.

We see that the backlash against the relationship between the coach and the reporter, in which neither of them admits that it is wrong, out of bounds, or adulterous, as many claim, is not going away anytime soon.
It may not even disappear at the start of the NFL season, except for a moment when the scandals are over, such as when Vrabel resigns, gets fired, or someone tells the truth about what really happened.

So the Patriots as an organization need to realize that this scarlet letter applies now. And it’s not just about their coaches, it’s about the entire organization.
The Patriots have 31 more NFL fan bases to remember, and they didn’t just forget past New England scandals like Spygate or Deflategate. These scandals have come to the fore even though a long time has passed.

This wound, which is still fresh and perhaps still bleeding, will remain on the agenda for a while longer.
The Patriots got a reminder that Sunday.
