Militant arrested, arms and ammunition seized in Manipur

A militant was arrested and arms and ammunition seized in separate operations in Manipur, police said on Tuesday (October 14, 2025).

The arrests and seizures took place on Monday, October 13.

Security forces arrested an active cadre of the banned Kangleipak ​​Communist Party (PWG) organization from Patsoi area in Imphal West district. In the police statement, it was stated that the person was identified as 24-year-old Naorem Thembung.

In the operation carried out in the Basti region of Nepal’s Churachandpur district, 2 single-barreled rifles, 2 country-made grenades, 3 country-made bullets, 8 country-made mortars and 25 cartridges were seized.

Security forces also seized a .303 sniper rifle with magazine, a telescope, a village-made gun, two single-barreled rifles, a .32 village-made gun with magazine and five bullet-proof plates from Keipha Road in Bishnupur district.

Additionally, an INSAS LMG with magazine, an SBBL gun, a Chinese-made hand grenade and cartridges were seized from Phubala Mamang Pat in Bishnupur district.
