Military attacks kill civilians in Russia and Ukraine

Local officials say drones and artillery are killing civilians on both sides of the Russia-Ukraine border.
In his statement on Telegram, the Deputy Governor of the region, Yegor Kovalchuk, said that two people in their car in a village close to the border died in a Ukrainian drone attack in the Bryansk region on the Russian border.
According to Russian news agencies, the Russian defense ministry said that 124 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down over Russian regions in a period ranging from 8:00 in the morning to 20:00 in the evening.
Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin made a long series of statements regarding the capture of Ukrainian drones heading towards the capital.
“Experts are currently examining the wreckage,” he said, according to news agencies.
An unofficial count kept by Russian news agencies puts the number at 21 during the day.
A drone strike in Ukraine crashed into a museum dedicated to preserving the memory of World War II battles, injuring 12 people, local authorities in Russia’s Rostov region said.
“A drone crashed into the building of the Sambek Heights museum,” Rostov regional governor Yuri Sliusar wrote on social media.
Located near the village of Sambek, the Sambek Hills military history museum is located in the Rostov region of Russia, during World War II. It is the largest memorial complex dedicated to Soviet soldiers who fought in the region during World War II.
Earlier, the Ukrainian security service SBU reported a drone attack on an oil pump station that it described as critical for fuel supplies to the Russian capital.
The SBU said a technical building at the station in Vtorovo, near the regional capital Vladimir, east of Moscow, was hit.
It was also stated that this was the second successful attack on the facility in a month.
In Ukraine, a total of more than 40 drone strikes and artillery fire killed one person and injured another near Nikopol, said Oleksandr Ganzha, governor of the southeastern Dnipropetrovsk Region.
The town, located on the opposite bank of the Dnieper River from the Russian-owned Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, is a frequent target of Russia.
