Military device explodes on Sunshine Coast beach

Authorities were released from a popular Sunshine Coast Beach in the afternoon while running to explode a “suspicious device washed on the sand.

The Peregian Beach in the north of Brisbane was exposed to an emergency exclusion zone from 12.30 after discovering the device, which a local police later defined as a military glare.

The object was safely detonated at 15:00, sprayed into the air height of sand meters, and an important crater was created in the sand.

Police said there was no constant threat to public security after the explosion.
